Box Score ORLANDO, FL. — The Roger Williams University Men's Tennis team opened its Spring Break Trip with a dominant 7–0 victory over Marymount University.
The Hawks secured the doubles point by sweeping all three matches. At No. 1 doubles,
Ryan Carroll (Holden, Mass.) and
Bronson DeSisto (Las Vegas, Nev.) earned a 6–2 victory. The No. 2 pairing of
Nathan Belmore (Lakeville, Mass.) and
Cooper Brown (Plano, Texas) followed with a 6–1 win, while
Ben Palmer (Wakefield, Mass.) and
Colin Belmore (Lakeville, Mass.) closed out doubles play with a 6–4 victory at the third position.
Roger Williams carried that momentum into singles competition, winning all six matches. Carroll delivered a 6–1, 6–3 win at No. 1 singles, while
Camden Poitras (Londonderry, N.H.) dominated his No. 2 match with a 6–2, 6–0 result.
Iker Rodriguez Alcocer (Nuacalpan de Juarez, Mexico) added another point with a 6–3, 6–2 victory at No. 3 singles.
Will Hurlbut (Marion, Mass.) battled through a three-set match at No. 4 singles, dropping the first set before rallying to win 3–6, 6–2, 8–1 in the match tiebreak.
Om Seth (Lincoln, R.I.) earned a straight-set victory at No. 5 singles, and
Steven Mathew (Bayport, N.Y.) completed the sweep with a 6–1, 6–1 win at the No. 6 spot.
With the win, the Hawks begin their Spring Break Trip 1–0.
