SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The Roger Williams University Track & Field team is set to compete at the New England Division III Championship, hosted by Springfield College.
One of the entries will be Justin Dickson (Londonderry, N.H.) as the senior enters with a decathlon seed total of 6397, which is first in the field. Dickson currently sits 21st nationally heading into the meet with the seed
In the field events, Roger Williams will rely on Napoleon Suderman (Winchester, Mass.), who is entered in both the discus and hammer throw. Suderman posted season-best throws of 43.70m in the discus and 47.48m in the hammer, both 19th in their respective fields. Ronald Nolin (Pepperell, Mass.) will represent the Hawks in the high jump, jumping 1.88m, which also sits 19th.
On the women's side, Angela West will compete in the javelin throw, entering the meet as the third-seeded thrower in the event, throwing 41.75m, good for 18th nationally heading into the weekend.
The Hawks will also feature a pair of distance runners. Kyle Tarpy (Haverhill, Mass.) is slated to compete in the 10,000 meters, while Eli Labell (South Hamilton, Mass.) will take on the 3,000-meter steeplechase. Tarpy posted a time of 33:08.80 in the event, good for 16th in the field, while Labell finished the steeplechase in a season best 9:57.39.
