BRISTOL, R.I. — Following a 2025 campaign in which it captured the Conference of New England Tournament title and advanced to the NCAA Division III Tournament, the Roger Williams University men's soccer team prepares to open its 2026 season looking to build on last year's 13-2-6 overall record and 8-1-1 mark in CNE play.
Head coach James Greenslit enters his 12th season at the helm of the Hawks with a 104-63-39 (.600) career record. Greenslit, the 2025 CNE Coach of the Year, has guided Roger Williams to conference championships in 2022 and 2025.
The Hawks earned the No. 1 seed in the 2025 CNE Tournament following a regular season in which they lost just once in conference play. Roger Williams advanced past Western New England in the semifinals, winning the penalty-kick shootout 5-4 following a 2-2 draw.
Roger Williams then captured the CNE championship against Suffolk. After the teams played to a 1-1 draw, the Hawks prevailed in penalty kicks behind a championship-clinching save from goalkeeper Eliot Panaccione (Pepperell, Mass.).
The victory sent Roger Williams to the NCAA Tournament, where its season concluded with a 4-1 loss to UMass Boston in the first round.
Offensive Core Returns
Roger Williams returns its top two scorers from last season in senior forward Dylan Robbins (Johnston, R.I.) and junior forward Tyler Jastrab (Townsend, Mass.).
Robbins led the Hawks with 20 points during the 2025 campaign, scoring six goals and recording a team-leading eight assists. He scored twice during the CNE Tournament and accounted for Roger Williams' goal against UMass Boston in the NCAA First Round. Robbins earned CNE Second Team, United Soccer Coaches All-Region II Third Team and Scholar All-Region Second Team recognition.
Jastrab finished second on the team with 17 points, leading Roger Williams with eight goals while adding one assist. Three of his eight goals were game-winners. Jastrab earned CNE First Team and United Soccer Coaches All-Region II Second Team honors.
Together, Robbins and Jastrab accounted for 14 of the Hawks' 34 goals in 2025, giving Roger Williams an experienced scoring combination at the top of its attack.
Senior midfielder Dylan Thomas (Norwalk, Conn.) also returns after earning CNE Second Team recognition. Thomas recorded four goals and eight points last season, including both Roger Williams goals in its CNE semifinal draw against Western New England.
The Hawks also bring back senior forward Patrick Marino (Wyckoff, N.J.), who contributed three goals, and sophomore midfielder Aidan Jennings (San Diego, Calif.), who appeared in all 21 matches and finished third on the team with five assists.
Experience in Goal and Along the Back Line
Roger Williams returns one of the region's leading goalkeepers in senior Panaccione.
Panaccione was named the 2025 CNE Goalkeeper of the Year after posting a 10-2-6 record with a 0.83 goals-against average, 51 saves, a .773 save percentage and eight individual shutouts. He also earned United Soccer Coaches All-Region II Second Team, Scholar All-Region Second Team and Scholar All-America honors.
Panaccione played 1,618 minutes last season and helped Roger Williams finish with 10 team shutouts while allowing only 18 goals across 21 matches.
Senior defender Brandon Rodriguez (Norwalk, Conn.) returns after earning CNE First Team and United Soccer Coaches All-Region II First Team recognition. Rodriguez anchored the Hawks' back line while contributing three goals, all of which were game-winners.
Senior defender Luke McCarthy (Tolland, Conn.) also returns after earning CNE Third Team honors. McCarthy appeared in 17 matches and contributed one assist while playing a role in the Hawks' 10 shutouts. Senior defender Noah Massotti (Douglas, Mass.) provides additional experience after appearing in all 21 matches last season.
Sophomore goalkeeper Todd Machowski (Marlborough, Conn.) gives the Hawks another experienced option in goal. Machowski went 3-0 across four appearances in 2025, recording 19 saves, a .864 save percentage and a 0.91 goals-against average.
2026 Schedule
The Hawks open their 18-game 2026 regular-season schedule on Sept. 1, traveling to Providence to face Rhode Island College at 6:00 pm.
Roger Williams returns to Bayside Field for its home opener against UMass Dartmouth on Sept. 4 at 5:00 pm. The Hawks continue their early-season homestand against Hobart on Sept. 6 at 12:00 pm and MIT on Sept. 8 at 6:00 pm.
CNE play begins Sept. 12 when Roger Williams travels to Boston to face Wentworth at 1:00 pm.
The Hawks then visit Babson on Sept. 15 at 4:00 pm. Roger Williams defeated the then-No. 12 Beavers, 1-0, at Bayside Field last season, snapping Babson's 17-match unbeaten streak.
Roger Williams returns home for conference matchups against Western New England on Sept. 19 and Endicott on Sept. 25 before closing the month at Framingham State on Sept. 29.
The Hawks begin October with consecutive home matches against Salve Regina on Oct. 3 and MCLA on Oct. 4. Roger Williams then hosts Gordon on Oct. 7 before traveling to Hartford on Oct. 10.
Roger Williams welcomes Johnson & Wales to Bayside Field on Oct. 13 before traveling to Boston for a rematch of the 2025 CNE championship against Suffolk on Oct. 17.
The Hawks close the regular season with three conference matches, hosting Nichols on Oct. 21, traveling to the University of New England on Oct. 24, and welcoming Curry to Bayside Field on Oct. 27 at 4:00 p.m.
The CNE Tournament begins with the first round on Oct. 31. The semifinals are scheduled for Nov. 4, with the conference championship set for Nov. 7.
