BRISTOL, R.I. – Fresh off a season-opening 7-0 victory over the University of Saint Joseph (Conn.) on Tuesday, the Roger Williams University Women's Soccer team returned home Thursday evening for its 2026 home opener, welcoming Regis College to Bayside Field for a non-conference matchup.
The Hawks battled the Pride through 90 minutes, but neither side could find the back of the net as Roger Williams and Regis played to a 0-0 draw.
Hawks Control Opening Half
Roger Williams controlled much of the offensive pressure throughout the opening half, registering seven shots compared to just one for Regis. The Hawks also earned three corner kicks in the opening 45 minutes while keeping the Pride's attack in check.
Senior midfielder Beth Yucius (Duxbury, Mass.) helped lead the Hawks' offensive attack with three shots, including one on target. Junior midfielder Isabella Vena (Haverhill, Mass.) added two shots, with one forcing Regis goalkeeper Nora Ross to make a save.
Sophomore midfielder Camryn Dickinson (Quaker Hill, Conn.) and sophomore defender Meghan Goutink (Hauppauge, N.Y.) each recorded a shot during the opening half, while senior midfielder Sarah Fogarty (Scituate, Mass.) added two attempts on the night.
Defenses Hold Strong in Second Half
After entering halftime scoreless, the Hawks continued to apply pressure in the second half while the Pride generated more offensive opportunities of their own.
First year midfielder Madelyn Riebold (Deep River, Conn.) recorded a second-half shot, while senior defender Hope Bilkey (Huntington, N.Y.) added an attempt. Junior forward Kaitlyn Alagno (Oxford, Conn.) also recorded two shots, including a shot on target in the 76th minute that was saved by Ross.
The Pride continued to test the Hawks late in the contest, but Roger Williams' defensive effort remained strong to preserve the shutout.
Hawks Hold Advantage on Stat Sheet
Roger Williams finished the evening with a 13-7 advantage in total shots, including three shots on goal for each side. The Hawks also held a 6-2 edge in corner kicks.
In goal, sophomore Ava Boenig (Norwich, Conn.) played all 90 minutes and recorded three saves to earn her first shutout of the 2026 season. Boenig came up with two important saves late in the second half, including stops on Regis' Sienna Santiago in the 76th minute and Kyla Leahy in the 80th minute.
The Hawks' defense remained active throughout the contest, limiting the Pride to just three shots on goal and keeping Regis off the scoreboard.
With Thursday's result, Roger Williams moves to 1-0-1 on the young 2026 season.
