BRISTOL, R.I. – Junior Claire Halliday (Trenton, N.J.) was named RWU Female Athlete of the Week for her strong performance in the Women’s Lacrosse team’s season-opener last week, notching eight points in the victory.

 

Facing TCCC opponent Nichols College Thursday afternoon Halliday led all scorers with eight points on the day, including five goals and three assists. After the Hawks opened up the scoring early in the game, Halliday tallied the team’s next three goals, including the eventual game-winner. She also recorded one ground ball and tied for a team-high with three caused turnovers.

 

Halliday and the team next travel to Willimantic, Conn., Saturday, to face non-conference opponent Eastern Connecticut State University in a 4 p.m. contest.
