BRISTOL, R.I. – Senior Taylor Petruccelli (Stratford, Conn.) was named RWU Male Athlete of the Week after averaging 16.5 points in two victories last week, helping RWU to secure a home playoff game as the third seed in The Commonwealth Coast Conference Tournament.

Wednesday night Petruccelli scored a team-high 15 points, shooting 6-for-12 from the field, He added seven rebounds, two assists and two steals in 25 minutes of play to help the Hawks to an 84-59 conference victory over Curry College.

Petruccelli led the team in scoring again in Saturday’s 71-63 triumph over Eastern Nazarene College. He notched 18 points, shooting 57% from the field, while grabbing eight rebounds and adding one assist and one steal.

The two victories secured the three seed for RWU entering the TCCC Tournament where they will host Endicott College Tuesday at 7 p.m.
