BRISTOL, R.I. – Holly Hancock (Tilton, N.H.), a sophomore middle hitter on the volleyball team, was named the Roger Williams University Female Athlete of the Week ending September 25, 2011.  She was also recognized at the Commonwealth Coast Conference Player of the Week.  Hancock averaged 2.69 kills, 1.00 digs, 0.46 services aces, and 0.46 blocks per set with a hitting percentage of .388 in a 4-0 week for the Hawks.  She opened the week recording eight kill on 11 swings with no errors for a stunning .727 hitting percentage in the conference season opener, a 3-0 victory over Eastern Nazarene.  In a non-conference match up against Wheaton, she tallied a .500 hitting percentage while adding five service aces and six digs.  Hancock’s best match of the week came in a thrilling 3-2 victory over regional power Trinity College, where she rattled of 12 kills, three blocks, an ace, and six digs.
