BRISTOL, R.I. – The Roger Williams University Softball team snapped its four-game losing streak win a pair of non-conference wins over the University of Massachusetts-Dartmouth Thursday afternoon by the scores 8-0 and 8-3.
In the opener, the Hawks plated at least one run in every inning in the shortened game. The team started the game with an RBI single by Erica Castro (Medford, N.Y.) in the first to take a quick 1-0 lead. In the following inning, RWU put four runs on the board, three of which came on a three-run homer to left field off the bat of Hannah Pirez (Bolton, Mass.).
The Hawks would then add one run in each of the third, fourth, and fifth innings, with Sarah Grill (Watervliet, N.Y.) scoring the final run of the game on Castro's sacrifice fly.

Yet the Hawks would knot the game up in their at-bat, with Grill and Michelle Caprice (Oak Ridge, N.J.) taking advantage of a pair of passed balls to score.
