DUDLEY, Mass. – Four Hawks posted double-digit points Saturday afternoon as the Roger Williams University Women's Basketball team defeated Nichols College 73-57 in the team' first Commonwealth Coast Conference game of the year.

Ari Renwick (Westwood, Mass.) scored a career-high 17 points off the bench, including an 8-for-8 performance from the foul line. Elizabeth Kilzi (Waverly, Pa.) notched ten points for RWU.

Kilzi started the Hawks off with a jumper 1:22 into the game, and from there the Hawks would never relinquish the lead. RWU jumped out to a 6-0 advantage before Nichols pulled within one on a basket by Kristin Lindgren (Sturbridge, Mass.) to make it 9-8 in favor of RWU.

Throughout the first half, the Bison continued to remain within striking distance of the Hawks but could never overcome the deficit to take the lead. The Hawks closed the half on a 12-6 run to stretch their one-point lead to seven, going into the break up by a 35-28 score.

In the second half, the Hawks led in double-figures for most of the period with a three-pointer by Renwick giving RWU its largest lead of the game, a 52-34 advantage with 14:56 to play.

Ashley Robidoux (Milford, Mass.) scored a layup late in the game to bring the Bison to within seven (58-51) with 5:37 left, but a 10-2 run over the next two minutes put the Hawks up by 15, en route to the win.

Jessica Nelson (North Providence, R.I.) led all scorers with 18 points, along with eight rebounds. Robidoux scored 17 with four boards, while Jamy Ferris (Windsor, Mass.) added eight points and five rebounds.
