BOSTON, Mass. – Four different players tallied goals, including senior midfielder Noelle Marston (Kingston, Mass.) who also added an assist as the Roger Williams women's soccer team won its third straight game with a 4-1 win over Wentworth in a Commonwealth Coast Conference contest played on Sweeney Field.
The Hawks took a 1-0 lead at 27:45 when sophomore forward Hannah Noel (Adams, Mass.) served a cross into the box where Marston fired a shot to the upper corner. Less than five minutes later, however, the Leopards evened the score when freshman Olivia Moore (Salem, Conn.) notched her team-leading seventh marker of the season, completing a long run which was set up by classmate Beverly Farris (Palmer, Mass.).
Roger Williams took a 2-1 lead at 36:09 after Marston set up freshman midfielder Kristen Tetreault (Tolland, Conn.), who delivered a one-timer inside the right post. The Hawks held an 11-5 shot advantage through te first 45:00.

With 5:14 remaining in the contest junior midfielder Maddy Howard (Medfield, Mass.) fed freshman defender Julie Lowenstein (Malta, N.Y.) for her collegiate goal.
Sophomore Stephanie Jaques (Birlington, Vt.) made four saves in the win, while Wentworth junior Jess Gardner (Wilbraham, Mass.) turned aside six shots. Roger Williams held a 23-10 shot advantage for the game.
“We knew it was important to play well today, score goals, and win the game. We embraced the conditions with the pitch and the wind. We played with a high tempo and quick ball movement which we had talked about over the last few days. The rest day on Wednesday helped refocus our minds, our bodies and we looked very sharp in practice Thursday as well as yesterday. We had a game plan and how each player had a role on the team, with everyone having a part of the outcome in the game, the end result.
“Noelle [Marston] was full of life today, getting into the six-yard box for the first goal. She turned up again with a great cross to Kristin [Tetreault] at the far post from the right side of the pitch. Katie [Fusaro] and Hannah [Noel] were causing all sorts of problems for their defense with their pace on both flanks. We didn't let their goal stop the way we wanted to play and responded the right way as we would have hoped.
“Laurin [Pendleton] was in the right place at the right time to poach a goal from Katie's cross which the keeper couldn't handle. She finished like we expect. Laurin played very strong and positive as an out an out striker today. Then Julie [Lowenstein] finished off the scoring with a great finish any forward would be proud of—by slotting it home, low to the far post from a great feed from Maddy [Howard].
“It was an excellent team performance everyone will enjoy until we play and refocus our attention on our next game on Tuesday against local rival Salve Regina.”
With the win the Hawks improve to 8-6-1 overall and 6-1 in CCC play. Roger Williams travels to Salve Regina on Tuesday. Wentworth falls to 3-13-0 (0-7) and is at Endicott Wednesday.
