Men's Ice Hockey defeats New Haven

NEW BEDFORD, Mass. – The Roger Williams Club Hockey team celebrated yet another win against the University of New Haven on Friday, December 9th.

Shortly after a goal scored by the University of New Haven, freshman Sean Williamson, assisted by sophomore Zack Boorman, tied the game with a goal. With the Hawks down by two goals, senior Captain C.J. Younis pulled the Hawks closer to a tie with his power play goal, assisted by sophomore Zack Boorman. Sophomore Alexander Loebs had two consecutive goals, assisted by senior Captain Richard Dart on both goals, and freshman Sean Williamson and sophomore Michael Knox respectively, to put the Hawks in the lead. The Hawks sealed their victory with another goal late in the third period by junior Sean Reilly, assisted by sophomore Joseph O'Brien and sophomore Ryan Cutter. In the end of the period junior goalie, Erin Dwyer made some amazing saves and helped bring his team the victory. Freshman Justin Levine also took a massive hit, which resulted in a major penalty and game disqualification for the other team, yet Levine got right back up and kept skating even after his head over heels flip. This victory puts the Hawks at 12-1-1. Their season will resume on January 21, 2012 at Daniel Webster College.
