Box Score

BRISTOL, R.I. – The Roger Williams University Women's Basketball team continues to roll, taking home an 82-59 win over Eastern Nazarene College Wednesday evening.

The Hawks, who set a season-high in points in the victory, earn their sixth straight win and move to 11-6 overall and 7-3 in the Commonwealth Coast Conference. Eastern Nazarene drops to 4-6 in the CCC and 9-8 overall.

The game started out early on as a back-and-forth battle, beginning with a fastbreak layup by ENC's Mel Green (Annapolis, Md.). That basket would start a six-minute stretch that saw one tie and seven lead changes. The last lead change came from a layup by Kaitlyn Bovee (Berlin, Conn.) with 14:18 left in the first half, making it 11-10 in favor of the Hawks.

Her bucket kickstarted a 20-0 Hawk run that saw RWU take a commanding 29-10 lead with 8:49 left in the half. Roger Williams would ultimately go into halftime with a 45-24 lead.

The second half was all Roger Williams, as the Hawks never let the advantage drop below 20 points in the period. Alexandra Lanieri (Port Jefferson, N.Y.) gave the Hawks their largest lead of the game with a layup to make it 68-38 with 8:10 to play. RWU would go on to win by 23.

Bovee set a new career high with 27 points in the game along with five rebounds. Lanieri had a double-double with 15 points and ten rebounds. Angelica Ariola (Prospect, Conn.) just missed her first double-double, finishing with ten points and a career-high nine assists.

Abbie Tonello (Bourne, Mass.) notched a double-double for Eastern Nazarene, finishing with 18 points and 12 rebounds. Green had a solid all-around game with 14 points, seven boards, eight assists, and a pair of steals.  Katelyn Memory (Kiowa, Colo.) added eight points off the bench.

Roger Williams will face Endicott College Saturday, while Eastern Nazarene plays Wentworth Institute of Technology, also on Saturday.
