Bates (2-2, 0-2 NESCAC) out-shot the Hawks (2-2) 46-32, and jumped out to an early 3-0 after a  scoreless opening five minutes. The Bobcats had several opportunities early on, but it was Allard who broke the scoreless tie when he wound up and ripped a shot that found the back of the net on a pass from sophomore Andrew Melvin (Medfield, Mass.) to give Bates the 1-0 lead. A little over a minute later, Allard found McReddie for the second goal of the game during a man up opportunity for the Bobcats.
