BRISTOL, R.I. – After four seasons leading the Men's Lacrosse program at Roger Williams University, Head Coach Kevin Gould has announced his departure, as he takes over the head coaching job at his alma mater, Bentley.
Through four seasons, Gould guided the Hawks to a 40-32 overall record while going 21-12 in conference play in the Commonwealth Coast Conference and Conference of New England (CNE). Gould coached the Hawks' first USILA All-American Honorable Mention in 2025 in Kyle Zirn, who also set the program record for caused turnovers in a career.
Since taking over the program in 2022, Gould guided the Hawks to continued success within the Commonwealth Coast Conference, highlighted by a 13-6 campaign in 2024 that matched the program record for victories in a season. That year, Roger Williams posted a 9-1 record on Bayside Field, the most home wins in program history, hosted and won a conference quarterfinal game, and advanced to the CCC Semifinals.
During Gould's tenure, Roger Williams produced numerous individual award winners. The Hawks earned one Conference Rookie of the Year award, one Conference Defensive Player of the Year honor, five First Team All-Conference selections, seven Second Team selections, 11 Third Team selections, 21 Academic All-Conference honorees, eight New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (NEILA) All-Academic Team selections, four NEILA Senior All-Star Game selections, four USILA Scholar All-Americans, and one NCAA Division III Men's Lacrosse All-America Honorable Mention.
Among the program's achievements under Gould's leadership were Riley Spellman's selection as the 2024 CCC Rookie of the Year and Kyle Zirn's recognition as the 2026 CCC Defensive Player of the Year and 2025 and 2026 selections as a USILA Honorable Mention All-American.
Prior to arriving at Roger Williams, Gould built an accomplished coaching résumé with Division I experience at Providence College, UMass Lowell, Dartmouth College, and Bryant University. Throughout his coaching career, he helped develop numerous all-conference performers, All-Americans, and professional players while consistently leading high-performing offensive units.
A standout student-athlete at Bentley University, Gould graduated in 2010 with a degree in business management. He finished his collegiate career ranked among the program's all-time leaders in assists and points, earned All-America honors as a senior, and went on to play professionally with the Boston Cannons, helping the club capture the 2011 Major League Lacrosse Championship.
A national search for the next head coach of the Roger Williams University men's lacrosse program will begin immediately.
