Volleyball takes two over Simmons and Brandeis

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 WALTHAM, Mass. – The Roger Williams University Women's Volleyball team picked up a pair of 3-0 wins over Simmons College and Brandeis University Saturday afternoon.
 
The Hawks opened the day with a victory over Simmons. It marked the first time that Head Coach Danielle Soubliere faced her old team, after spending the 2014 season at the helm of the Sharks. The Hawks began the afternoon taking the first set 25-15 before grabbing a 25-16 win in the second set.  In the final set, RWU held Simmons to -.190 hitting en route to the 25-8 win.
 
Kristen Boyer (Ephrata, Pa.) led RWU with nine kills in the match while adding two service aces. Nicole Weber (Poulsbo, Wash.) handed out 11 assists, while Molly Quilty (Duxbury, Mass.) finished with five blocks.
 
In the second match of the afternoon against Brandeis, the Hawks sustained a constant offensive attack throughout the match, hitting .234 in the match, the team's third-highest hitting percentage on the season. Conversely, Brandeis hit only .011 against RWU, adding up to a 25-19, 25-14, 25-19 win in favor of RWU.
 
Quilty totaled seven kills and seven blocks in the game for Roger Williams, while Weber finished with 18 kills and Maria Batas (Merrick, N.Y.) totaling 14 digs.
