The Roger Williams University Men's Ice Hockey team traveled to Bolton Ice Arena for their second conference battle with Eastern Connecticut State.
Nathan Vandemoer was between the pipes for the Hawks, and stood tall all game. The Hawks jumped out to a lead in the first as Bina tallied a goal, followed by Mitchell redirecting a shot form Panarelli, then Fasano jumped on a rebound so the Hawks took a 3-0 lead into the first intermission.
However EastConn was not going to fall without a fight, and responded early in the second on the power play. The scoring in the second was not done though; Lawton hit Mitchell with a great indirect pass to spring Mitchell on a breakaway to put the Hawks up 4-1 and gave Mitchell his 100
th career point.
EastConn would add one more in the third, but so did Mitchell to complete the hat trick, and to lead the Hawks to a 5-2 victory, to move to 4-1-0 on the season and 2-0-0 in conference play. Vandemoer made 36 saves in the win.
