On Thursday night, the Roger Williams University Men's Ice Hockey team traveled to Bridgewater State to take on the Bears for the second time this season.
The Hawks jumped out to a quick lead when
Ian Mitchell found the back of the net just 37 seconds into the first period. They controlled the pace of play for most of the first period and Mitchell added another goal later in the first to give the Hawks a 2-0 lead heading into the first intermission.
The Hawks would continue to build on their lead in the second when
Will Sauerbrunn ripped a wrist shot past the Bears' goalie on the powerplay to make the lead 3-0.
Jeremy Lawton would also add a goal on the powerplay later in the second to extend the lead to 4-0. Bridgewater would find an answer late in the third when Lipari snuck a shot past
Ryan Shea, who made 22 saves in the 4-1 victory.
