Men’s Lacrosse nets 19 in win

Box Score BRISTOL, R.I. - The Roger Williams University Men's Lacrosse team set a new season high in scoring, as the Hawks rolled to a 19-9 win over the University of Massachusetts–Dartmouth.

Roger Williams took command of the game early, scoring four unanswered goals in the opening period. Cam Donnelly (Medfield, Mass.) began the game with his first score of the year less than 20 seconds into the game. Nick Gagnon (Milton, Mass.) scored twice in the quarter while Justin MacIntyre (Norwalk, Conn.) also added a goal to give RWU a 4-0 lead after one.

The Corsairs's Bo Prozinski (Ashland, Mass.) scored twice in the second quarter to put the team on the board, with Zach Walker (Andover, Mass.) adding a goal of his own later in the period. However, the Hawks tallied three goals of their own in the quarter to maintain the four-score advantage going into halftime.

Roger Williams somewhat put the game out of reach in the third quarter, outscoring the Corsairs 6-1 in the period. Gagnon and AJ Core (Syosset, N.Y.) each scored twice in the period to aid in the Hawk rally.

The fourth quarter saw both teams combine for 11 goals, with six for the Hawks and five for UMass-Dartmouth. Despite the Corsairs finally managing to find their offensive rhythm, the deficit managed to be too much to overcome, as the Hawks held on for the win.

Gagnon and Will Siefert (Duxbury, Mass.) each finished with four goals and two assists. Max Cammarota (Redding, Conn.) tallied five points (1 G, 4 A) while Eddie Hill (Somers, Conn.) finished with four (1 G, 3 A). Connor Carroll (Madison, Conn.) earned the win, making five saves in three quarters of play.

Prozinski led all players with a game-high seven points on four goals and three assists. Walker scored three goals, while Sean Peters (Medway, Mass.) and Alex Lucas (Brookfield, Mass.) tallied the other Corsair goals. Matt Lafond (Bridgewater, Mass.) made 13 saves in the loss.

On Saturday, Roger Williams (4-3) will face Nichols, while UMass-Dartmouth (2-3) will travel to Wheaton.
