The hawks start off spring break trip going 2-4

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 | Box Score 3 | Box Score 4 The Roger Williams University Softball team beat Rose Hulman Institue of Technology 4-1 in seven innings on Friday behind Julianne Vesce, who went 2-3.
She singled in the second and sixth innings.
 
The Hawks relied on Meg Maliga to eat up innings en route to the win. Maliga allowed one earned run, six hits and no walks while striking out five over seven innings of work.
Michelle Korf took the loss for Rose Hulman Institue of Technology. She lasted just seven innings, walked two, struck out one, and allowed three runs.

The Hawks stayed on top until the final out after taking the lead in the second, scoring one run on an RBI single by Mikaela Grosso.

The lone run of the game for Rose Hulman Institue of Technology crossed the plate in the seventh inning on an RBI single by Janel Lake.

In their second game of their spring break trip the hawks faced off against Findlandia University. The  Hawks jumped out to an early lead on Finlandia University and captured a 20-1 victory on Friday.

With 19 runs in the first three innings, the Hawks left no doubt about the eventual outcome.

An RBI single by Veronica Alicea, an RBI single by Haley Ledbetter, a steal of home by Bethany Wright, an RBI double by Mary Adametz, and a three-run single by Taylor Messier in the first inning and an RBI double by Wright, a wild pitch, a walk by Sarah Doe, an RBI single by Messier, a walk by Merri Moise, a wild pitch, a two-run single by Alicea, a groundout by Ledbetter, and an RBI single by Adametz during the second inning supplied the early offense for RWU Hawks.

Julianne Vesce put herself in scoring position with two extra-base hits for RWU Hawks. She doubled in the first and second innings and singled in the fourth inning.
Adametz looked sharp on the rubber. Adametz gave up just one hit, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three during her three innings of work.

The Hawks easily handled Finlandia University pitching as seven hitters combined for 14 hits, 13 RBIs and 15 runs scored.

Annika Kahkonen was charged with the loss. She lasted just one-third of an inning, walked none, struck out none, and allowed two runs.

The Hawks lost a close one to Emmanuel College 6-7.The Hawks lost 7-6 in eight innings on Sunday, despite outhitting Emmanuel College 13 to 12.

Taylor Messier put herself in scoring position with two extra-base hits for RWU Hawks. She singled in the first and second innings, doubled in the fourth inning, and tripled in the fifth inning.

The Hawks jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the top of the first. Messier singled to start things off before Veronica Alicea singled, scoring Merri Moise. The scoreboard lit up again for RWU Hawks when Alicea scored on an RBI single by Mikaela Grosso.

The Hawks brought home one run in the third inning, and matched that run total in the fifth. In the third, RWU Hawks scored on an RBI single by Valerie Moran, bringing home Sarah Doe.

Emmanuel College scored one run of its own in the third. Emmanuel College scored on an error.

Emmanuel College survived RWU Hawks' surge and put up two runs of its own in the fourth. Emmanuel College scored on an error and a groundout by Catherine Davis.
