In the second annual Rhode Island Tournament the Hawks squared off with PC.  The Hawks took a 1-0 lead early in the first, and would extend that lead early in the second as Tabb and Mitchell scored to give the Hawks a 3-0 lead.  That lead would last though as PC stormed back scoring three goals of their own in the second leaving the game tied 3-3 heading into the third.  The game would need an extra time to decide a winner.  The teams traded chances in overtime but neither team could find the back of the net.  In the shootout Mitchell shot first and put the Hawks up 1-0. Shea shut the door on PC's first shooter, Sauerbrunn was the next shooter.  Sauerbrunn faked a shot deked to his backhand and threw on the brakes tucked the puck in, to put the Hawks up 2-0 in the shootout. Shea made a second save in the shootout to advance the Hawks to the tournament finals.
