Softball Loses Lead Early in Defeat On Last Day in Florida

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 Clermont, FL- The Roger Williams University softball team watched the game slip away early and couldn't recover in a 9-1 loss to UW Whitewater on Friday in the first game of their double header.
 
UW Whitewater took the lead on a double in the first inning when Amy Ricci of UW- Whitewater drove in one when she doubled in the first inning.  
 
UW Whitewater scored seven runs in the third inning. UW Whitewater's big inning was driven by a double by Meg Cohrs, a single by Nicole Neitzel, a error, a triple by Mallory Klotz, and a single by Caitlin Catino.
 
Sigita Ivaska, Valerie Moran, and Maddie Reis each collected one hit to lead the Hawks.
 
Moise flied one out to left field for Ivaska to score the Hawks only run of the game.
 
In their second game of their double header against UW-Whitewater the Hawks were able to keep UW-Whitewater within reach but still couldn't seem to get a run on the board in their 4-0 loss.
UW Whitewater scored on a stolen base by Amy Ricci in the first inning, a double by Meg Cohrs in the first inning, and a stolen base by Caitlin Catino in the second inning.
UW Whitewater was sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Nicole Neitzel had the most chances in the field with 12.

The Hawks travel to The Coast Guard Academy on March 21st at 4PM for a non-conference match up.
