Box Score BRISTOL, R.I. – The Roger Williams University Men's Lacrosse team used a consistent offensive attack for a 15-6 win over Gordon College Tuesday evening.
Nick Palandjian (Belmont, Mass.) began the scoring for Gordon with a man-up goal two minutes into the contest. RWU would take the lead on back-to-back scores by
Jude Marzec (West Islip, N.Y.), but Thor Rasmussen (Fairfax, Va.) tied the game at two with 8:17 left in the first quarter.
The Hawks would respond with 5-0 run that spanned into the second quarter, with
John Lisitano (Guilford, Conn.) capping off the Hawk rally with a goal at the 9:22 mark of the second quarter, putting the Hawks up 7-2. Palandjian notched his second man-up goal of the game with 2:38 left to end the run and pull Gordon within four entering halftime.
Roger Williams would essentially put the game out of reach early in the third quarter. Marzec, Lisitano, and
Eddie Hill (Somers, Conn.) each scored for RWU over the first nine minutes to build the Hawks' lead to seven.
Both teams would trade goals over the final five minutes of the third quarter and the first four minutes of the fourth, with Roger Williams still holding on to a six-goal advantage (12-6). Three consecutive tallies by RWU over a three-minute stretch put the Hawks up by nine, the largest lead of the game. Nick Tozier (Winston Salem, N.C.) score the final goal of the game with 3:55 to play, as Roger Williams rolled to the win.
Marzec finished with six points on four goals and a pair of assists. Lisitano scored three times while
Max Cammarota (Redding, Conn.) tallied four points (2 G, 2 A).
Harrison Levesque (Ridgefield, Conn.) was 14-for-20 on faceoffs with ten ground balls.
Dolan Jones (Levittown, N.Y.) made five saves in the win.
Palandjian led Gordon with four goals in the game, with Tozier and Nate Distasio (North Reading, Mass.) adding the other scores. Gabe Zornik (Oviedo, Fla.) finished with a ground ball and two caused turnovers. Scott Conte (Newbury, Mass.) made ten saves in the loss.
Roger Williams (7-5, 3-1 CCC) hosts Nichols on Thursday. Gordon (4-7, 1-4 CCC) welcomes the University of New England next Wednesday.
