Box Score 2 CLERMONT, Fla. - The Roger Williams University Softball team was clipped in a pair of games down in Florida, falling 13-14 to Trinity College and 0-10 to Amherst College.

Against Trinity, the Hawks fell behind 7-0 after two innings and trailed by ten runs after four. However the team was bolstered by putting up 11 runs in the fifth inning to take a 13-12 lead. Alyssa Murray (Green Brook, N.J.), Katrina Goria (Wyckoff, N.J.), and Rachel Wandzilak (West Islip, N.Y.) each scored two runs in the inning to help Roger Williams with the comeback.

The Hawks appeared to be holding on for the win until Trinity put up two runs in the bottom of the seventh inning with two outs to escape with the win.

Wandzilak was in the circle for Roger Williams. She lasted 3.1 innings, allowing nine hits and 11 runs while striking out one. Hailey Prechtel (Glenmont, N.Y.) also threw 3.1 innings out of the bullpen.

The Hawks racked up 15 hits in the game. Murray went 3-for-5 at the plate with five runs batted in. Goria was 2-for-5 with two runs and two RBI while Wandzilak went 2-for-4 with three runs scored.

Against Amherst, the Hawks fell behind early and couldn't recover. The Mammoths kicked off the game with four runs in the bottom of the first for a quick 4-0 lead.

Amherst would then total five runs in the top of the second before adding one more in the top of the third.

The Hawk offense struggled all day as the team mustered only one hit on the day. Micaela Pohl (Middleboro, Mass.) notched the single back in the first inning.

Ellie Fleming (Marshfield, Mass.) started the game for the Hawks, going 2.1 innings, allowing 12 hits and ten runs while striking out one. Wandzilak threw 2.2 innings in relief.

Roger Williams (1-7) faces RPI and Rutgers-Newark next.
