SPRINGFIELD, Mass. — Roger Williams Softball freshman pitcher Lia Nocella (Tyngsboro, Mass.) has been named Commonwealth Coast Conference Rookie of the Week.

Nocella came up big as the Hawks swept a doubleheader from CCC rival Salve Regina. In a 3-1 opening game victory, Nocella went the distance, allowing just one run on six hits in seven innings of work.  She fanned five and walked two.

This is Nocella's second CCC Rookie of the Week recognition.
