HYDE PARK, Mass. – The Roger Williams University Men's Golf team earned its second consecutive tournament win Tuesday afternoon, posting a first-place finish at the Emmanuel Invitational. The Hawks claimed the top spot via tiebreaker with Rhode Island College.
Hawk Highlights
Ben DeFelice (Warwick, R.I.) earned medalist honors for the Hawks, shooting a career-low 73 for a round of +3 and his first collegiate tournament win.
Trevor Hada (Los Angeles, Calif.) came in tied for third with his score of 78, going eight over on the day.
Ben Brodeur (Whitinsville, Mass.) logged a tie for tenth place with his round of 84, while
Burke Howell (Beverly, Mass.) carded an 86 to tie for 12
th place overall.
Terry Baker (Fiskdale, Mass.) was one stroke behind Howell to tie for 14
th place.
Baker's round of 87 proved to be crucial as he bested the score of 97 by Rhode Island College's #5 golfer Cameron Mellon. Their head-to-head scores served as the tiebreaker for the tournament with both RWU and RIC finished with a score of 321.
