PORTSMOUTH, R.I. – The Roger Williams University Women's Polo team dropped its final contest of the fall Sunday evening to the University of Massachusetts-Amherst, falling 10-15.

How It Happened
The opening period was a tight contest between RWU and UMass.
Avery Boruch (Portsmouth, R.I.) scored first for RWU before UMass rolled off three straight scores.
Nicole Quinlan (Barrington, R.I.) and
Annie Ebersold (Glastonbury, Conn.) would then both score for the Hawks to tie the game at three.
The game decidedly turned in favor of UMass in the second chukka, beginning the quarter on a 3-0 run. UMass would outscore Roger Williams 5-1 in the frame and take an 8-4 lead into halftime.
After the break, Quinlan pulled the Hawks within three with the first goal of the quarter. However, three consecutive goals put UMass up 11-5 before another Ebersold goal made it 11-6 going into the fourth.
In the final period, both teams scored four goals in the period in a high-scoring quarter. However, it would not be enough for the Hawks to overcome the deficit.
