NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Roger Williams University Women's Polo team competed at the United States Polo Association Northeast Regionals this past weekend, finishing with a 1-2 overall record.
The Hawks began the weekend falling 3-13 to UMass in the team's opening game.
Ali Knell (Melville, N.Y.) had one goal for the Hawks in the opening chukka while
Annie Ebersold (Glastonbury, Conn.) added one foul shot and one goal in the second period.
Roger Williams would face Skidmore in the second game of the weekend. Unfortunately, the Hawks were not able to get on the winning side of the ledger as the Thoroughbreds defeated RWU 5-11. Ebersold scored all five goals in the game for the Hawks.
The Hawks completed the weekend against Yale on Sunday, coming away with their first win in the tournament with a 16-6 victory. Ebersold paced the way for the Hawks with 15 goals in the win while
Mel MacDonald (Durham, Maine) notched one goal for RWU. Ebersold was honored as an USPA Northeastern Regional All-Star.
