Men's Soccer Adds Liam And Bridget To Program Through Team IMPACT

BRISTOL, R.I. – Roger Williams University Men's Soccer coach James Greenslit announced the signing of Liam and his twin sister Bridget as the newest members of the Hawks Men's Soccer team. Liam and Bridget come to Roger Williams through a partnership with Team IMPACT, whose mission is to improve the quality of life for children facing serious illnesses and disabilities through the power of a team.

"Our Men's Soccer program could not be more excited to officially sign Liam and Bridget our team," said Greenslit. "Getting to know both Liam and Bridget over the last two months has been an unbelievable journey for our team. They both have experienced many hardships but have continued to overcome all of the obstacles in front of them. They always have smiles on their faces and continue to have an unbelievable positive attitude. These are the qualities that we look for when bringing people into our men's soccer program.

"The strength and perseverance they continue to show on a daily basis is extraordinary and an inspiration to all of us. We couldn't be more excited to add Liam and Bridget and have them continue on this incredible journey as a part of our RWU Men's Soccer family."

Liam and Bridget were officially introduced at a signing day press conference on Tuesday, December 14, during which they signed their official letters of intent. Liam and Bridget's family was in attendance, along with their new teammates and members of the Roger Williams Men's Soccer team. Now official members of the Roger Williams Men's Soccer program, Liam and Bridget will attend practices, games and team functions.

"Team IMPACT is excited to see Liam and Bridget join the Hawk family," said Danielle Hardee, Regional Director of Programs, Northeast at Team IMPACT. "We are proud to work alongside Roger Williams University, their athletic department and coaching staff to create lifelong bonds and life-changing outcomes between student-athletes and their Team IMPACT teammates."

About Team IMPACT
Team IMPACT is the only U.S. nonprofit that tackles the emotional trauma and social isolation experienced by children facing serious illnesses and disabilities by matching them with a college athletic team. Our two-year therapeutic program complements a child's medical treatments, allowing the child to develop relationships and skills that help them complete the full circle of healing.

Through participation in Team IMPACT's clinically informed program, children experience a true sense of belonging, resulting in increased empowerment, normalization, health promotion, and resilience. Families feel connected and supported as their child achieves individualized goals, while experiencing the joy of team camaraderie and inclusion; and student-athletes gain perspective and inspiration, as well as lessons in adversity and resilience.

Founded in 2011, Team IMPACT has matched more than 2,300 children with 700+ colleges and universities in 49 states, impacting more than 65,000 student-athletes. Team IMPACT has more than 1,200 teams across the country waiting to be matched with children, ages 5-16, who have been diagnosed with a serious illness or disability and could benefit from becoming a member of the team.
