CULPEPER, Va. – The Roger Williams University women's rugby team will travel to Houston to play for a 15s National Championship, after defeating Coastal Carolina in their South Regional matchup in Culpeper, Va.
The Hawks had key defensive stands by
Casey Dunbar (West Nyack, N.Y.),
Elizabeth Dobson (Merrimac, Mass.),
Guinevere Rhuda (Wakefield, Mass.), and
Tiana Adams (Rochester, N.H.) holding Coastal Carolina to seven points in the match.
Offensively, Dunbar and
Sarah Gray (Freeport, Maine) led the charge with a pair of tries each, with
Natalia Comiskey (Clinton, Conn.),
Makayla Carrafiello (Framingham, Mass.),
Corina Mitchell and
Zoey Cormican (Rochester, N.H.) also touching the ball down. Dunbar also had the lone conversion for Roger Williams.
Roger Williams (6-0) will travel to Houston for a shot at a National Title. They will open up play in Texas against Wisconsin-Eau Claire on Saturday, Dec. 3.
