WATERVILLE, Maine – The Roger Williams University Women's Rugby team opened their season on Saturday, defeating Colby College 80-12 at Colby.
The Hawks saw Danielle Vogt (Warwick, N.Y.) tally four tries for the Hawks while Kaya Haddad (Lee, Mass.) added four tries as well. Maddison Edwards (East Longmeadow, Mass.) was responsible for 10 points, while Jaden Logie (Storrs, Conn.) added four conversion kicks for eight points.
The Hawks also saw Rileigh Gouveia (Jamestown, R.I.), Danyela Poore (Manchester, N.H.), Allison Bumpus (Carver, Mass.), and Skyler Kelemen (Stratford, Conn.) each with a try while Monica Coghlan (Dedham, Mass.) earn a pair of points off a conversion.
Roger Williams (1-0) will host Maine on Saturday, Oct. 4 at 1:00 pm ahead of a Saturday, Oct. 11 match against UMass Lowell.
Colby (1-1) will travel to Bentley on Saturday, Oct. 18, before hosting Middlebury on Saturday, Oct. 25.
