BRISTOL, R.I. – It was smooth sailing for the Roger Williams University Sailing team as they took the top spot in both A and B Divisions on their way to a first-place team finish at the 84^TH Boston Dinghy Club Challenge Cup across their pair of regattas on Saturday and Sunday. Spencer Cartwright (Nassau, Bahamas) and Molly Matthews (Grosse Ile, Mich.) had a weekend to remember, as they were on fire in the A Division, finishing no lower than fifth in any race.
 
Hawk Highlights
At the 84^TH Boston Dinghy Club Challenge Cup, hosted by MIT, it was all Roger Williams in the A and B divisions. Spencer Cartwright (Nassau, Bahamas) and Molly Matthews (Grosse Ile, Mich.) finished outside of the top-three just once out of their nine races to post a very impressive score of 22 in the top division. The Hawks got much of the same from Aidan Hoogland (Chula Vista, Calif.) and Rachel Holick (Lawrence, N.J.) in B division. They did battle a little inconsistency with a pair of double-digit placings, but they dominated the rest of the way, posting six top-three finishes including a trio in first place, to top their division. The team's performances in each of the top-two divisions put them in good position and the duo Mathieu Dale (Christiansted, USVI) and Annika Irene (Excelsior, Minn.) finished it off by taking sixth in C Division for RWU's 11^th first-place team finish of the year.
 
Though overshadowed by the dominant effort at the 84^TH Boston Dinghy Club Challenge Cup, the Hawks also had a quality showing at the Admirals Cup, hosted by Kings Point, particularly in the A Division. There, the boat of Cameron Wood (Corona del Mar, Calif.) and Emily Gildea (Palos Park, Ill.) finished in the top-five six times to take fourth in the division. Meanwhile, in the B Division, Riley Read (Portland, Ore.) and Carly Kiss (Pewaukee, Wisc.) struggled to find consistency as they did finish in the top-five six times but also ranked in the bottom-three five times to finish tenth in the division.
