BRISTOL, R.I. – The boat of
Spencer Cartwright (Nassau, Bahamas) and
Rachel Holick (Lawrence, N.J.) was named to the 2022 All-NEISA Open First Team for the Roger Williams University Sailing team, as it was announced by the New England Inter-Collegiate Sailing Association recently. The tandem was joined by the pairing of
Aidan Hoogland (Chula Vista, Calif.) and
Molly Matthews (Grosse Ile, Mich.) as they made the second team.
For each of the sailors, this marks the first time they have been named to the All-NEISA Teams though it is worth noting that the awards were not distributed in 2021.
The boat featuring Cartwright as the skipper and Holick as the crew made the first team for RWU by performing well for the Hawks at a number of the most competitive Regattas in the region this year. The duo placed within the top-three in half of the six events they competed in, taking the top spot twice while competing exclusively at A Division.
The pair of Hoogland as skipper and Matthews crew, meanwhile, was equally successful at B Division. They too finished within the top-three on six occasions of the dozen regattas sailed in. Of those finishes, three were as the runner-up and two were first-place showings.
