BIDDEFORD, Maine – Isabelle Rosado (Central Islip, N.Y.) enjoyed a huge breakout season for the Roger Williams University Softball team, and it culminated in Commonwealth Coast Conference Co-Player of the Year honors, as it was announced by the conference offices on Tuesday.
Taylor Howell (Sandwich, Mass.) also earned All-CCC Third Team honors for the Hawks.
Rosado becomes just the third RWU Softball player to receive Player of the Year recognition in program history, and she is the first since 2013 when Lauren Tierney '13 received the award. She was also the lone Hawk to earn first team all-conference this season after a trio of players were selected last year.
It has been a rollercoaster of a season for the softball team, but Rosado has been a pillar of consistency. She broke out in a big way for the Hawks, establishing herself as an anchor at third base and in the second spot in the team's lineup. The junior is littered throughout the conference leaderboard, ranking among the CCC's best in triple slash at .435/.460/.574 (2

th) with each of those marks also leading the team. In the counting stats, Rosado leads RWU, and ranks tied for fifth in the CCC in doubles (11) and is tied for eighth in triples (2) and stolen bases (7-for-7). She is also second on the team and tied for sixth in the CCC in hits with 47 and has struck out a mere four times in 115 plate appearances. In conference play, she has been nearly impossible to get out hitting .491 with seven extra-base hits and more walks (two) than strikeouts (one). Rosado also ranks second on the roster in runs scored (18) and third in RBIs (12). Meanwhile, in the field, Rosado has been tremendous at the hot corner, making the routine plays as well as the highlight-reel caliber ones. She has recorded 47 assists, the second-most in the conference, while starting five double plays on her way to a .930 fielding percentage.
Howell earned a spot on the All-CCC team for the second-straight year for RWU, earning the nod at the Designated Player position. While lacking a defensive home as she saw action at first base, third base, and catcher, she mashed as the team's primary DP. The Hawks' top power threat, the sophomore clubbed a pair of home runs to pace the team, while her ten two-baggers are second on the roster and tied for ninth in the CCC. Her .460 slugging percentage also ranked second for RWU and she was the team's top run producer driving in 19 this spring.
