Quartet Of Men’s Lacrosse Players Selected To Participate In NEILA Senior All-Star Game

AMHERST, Mass. – Seniors Hunter Goodrow (Hopkinton, Mass.) and Ryan Phillips (Hanover, Mass.), as well as graduate students Jared Grier (Quincy, Mass.) and Tim Mullane (Hanover, Mass.) were selected to represent the Roger Williams University Men's Lacrosse team at the New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (NEILA) Senior All-Star Game, as it was announced recently. The four players set to compete is the most ever that the men's lacrosse program has put in the contest.
 
The All-Star Game will take place on Friday, June 3rd, with the opening faceoff set for 7:00 PM at Chapey Field on the campus of Providence College.
 
All players and coaches were nominated by the head coaches within the NEILA.  Players were then ranked and selected by a committee, awarding seniors from all three NCAA Divisions who played their college career in the New England region.
 
The fifth-year tandem of Grier and Mullane were dynamic offensively, leading the Hawks' scoring attack ranking first and second on the roster in goals, assists, and points. Grier led the squad and ranked third in the Commonwealth Coast Conference with 49 goals, while he was seventh in assists with 28, a mark that was second on the roster behind Mullane's 29. Mullane added 37 goals, a number that finished tied for seventh in the CCC. For their efforts, Grier and Mullane made the All-CCC Second and Third team, respectively.
 
RWU's number-three scoring option this season was Phillips, who finished with 29 goals plus 17 helpers. His goal total ranked tied for 19th in the CCC and his assist tally was tied for 15th.
 
The Hawks' top defender, Goodrow finished the season leading the team and third in the conference with 28 caused turnovers, adding 41 ground balls. He was also named to the All-CCC Second Team.
