BIDDEFORD, Maine – The Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) announced the winners for their women's tennis weekly awards on Monday afternoon, with Gianna Ferraro (Westerly, R.I.) being named the CCC Player of the Week.
 
Ferraro received the award after going 2-0 during the week in singles play, and 1-1 in doubles matches during the week.
 
Against Regis, Ferraro beat her second singles opponent 6-1, 6-1 after winning her doubles match 8-7.  In the Hawks victory over Division II Saint Anselm, Ferraro fell in a hard-fought match in second doubles, before winning her second singles match 6-4, 6-3.
 
Roger Williams (3-0, 0-0 CCC) will begin conference play on Wednesday, Sept. 14 at Curry before hosting Bridgewater State on Thursday, Sept. 15.  The Hawks will then close out the week with their CCC match against Gordon scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 17.
