BRISTOL, R.I. – The Roger Williams men's ice hockey team faced Sacred Heart Friday night at 7:00 pm in a home game at Portsmouth Abbey Arena leading to a 4-2 loss for the Hawks.
The Pioneers opened the scoring for the night within the first three minutes followed by a second goal for Sacred Heart just under eight minutes to go in the first period.
Roger Williams responded with a goal scored by
Grady Chretien (Goffstown, N.H.) assisted by
Alex Forward (Concord, N.H.). Forward didn't stop there, after the Hawks' first goal, he found the top right of the net after being awarded a penalty shot tying the game for the Hawks.
With under 15 minutes to go during the third period, the Hawks found themselves down two players giving the Pioneers an advantage. Capitalizing on this, Sacred Heart scored their third goal followed by the fourth, ultimately gaining victory 4-2.
Roger Williams (3-5-0) will host Boston University on Sunday, Nov. 5 at 3:00 pm at Portsmouth Abbey Arena, the Hawks will then travel to Boston College on Friday, Nov. 10 at 8:00 pm at Reilly Memorial Rink.
