DURHAM, N.H. – The Roger Williams University wrestling team competed at the Henry Marsh Invitational on Saturday, taking away the team title as well as multiple top finishes.
At 125-pounds
Ari Dinerman (Ashland, Mass.) took first place after pinning his first two opponents of the day taking the top spot after he and teammate
Dan Hickey won their semifinal matches in the weight class.
At 133-pounds
Tyler Lanci battled his way through the bracket, winning his semifinal matchup by major decision 15-5, before falling in the championship match.
Peter Tringali (Chester, N.J.) and
Eddie Troyano (Wading River, N.Y.) finished first and second on the day at 149-pounds.
Tom Cullerton (Nashua, N.H.) finished second at 165-pounds falling in the final match of the day after winning his opening match by pin, and following with a pair of wins by decision.
Paul Trombi (Amherst, N.H.) had a pin on the day, while
Anthony Ostrander (Newbury, Mass.) won two matches by pin before bowing out in the semifinals.
Leonard Breit (Johnston, R.I.) took the top spot at 174-pounds, winning each of his matches throughout the day, with
Cole Wolkner (Farmington, Conn.) finishing his day at 184-pounds in third.
The Hawks also saw a top finish at 197-pounds, with
Hunter Rasmussen (Fairfield, Conn.) winning his championship match by decision, 10-3.
Roger Williams will now prepare for the futures tournament on Sunday Feb. 19 before traveling to Portland, Maine for NCAA Division III Northeast Regionals Saturday Feb. 25.
