BERLIN, Conn. – The Roger Williams University men's golf team closed out their weekend of competition on Sunday placing fifth at the Bill Detrick Invitational hosted by Trinity at Timberlin Golf Club's Rolling Farms Course.
In their first day of competition, the Hawks posted a combined team score of 313, finishing the day in fourth place for the tournament.
Cal Tryder (Wakefield, Mass.) put up a 76 on day one finishing one shot ahead of teammate
Ben DeFelice (Warwick, R.I.) who carded a 77.
Johnny Doherty (Braintree, Mass.) hit a 79 in round one, while
Trevor Hada (Los Angeles, Calif.) shot an 81.
Ben Brodeur (Whitinsville, Mass.) rounded out the scores for the Hawks with an 83.
In day two Tryder again shot low completing his two-round score with a 148, after improving his score by four stokes from round one to two. DeFelice then carded a 77 to round out his two-day total at 154. Doherty then posted a 161 on the day before Hada hit a 162, hitting an 81. Brodeur rounded out his weekend with a total of 166.
