SUTTON, Mass. – The Roger Williams University men's golf team took home first place at the Rich Korzec Invitational hosted by Worcester State on Wednesday, at the Blackstone National Country Club
The Hawks outshot a pair of Nichols teams for second and third with both squads combining for a +16 and +25 on the par 72 course, with Roger Williams carding a team 83.
Cal Tryder (Wakefield, Mass.) took first place individually, as he hit par on the scorecard, shooting a 72 to lead all golfers.
Ben DeFelice (Warwick, R.I.) then came in tied for second with a three over par 75, before
Ben Brodeur (Whitinsville, Mass.) and
Trevor Hada (Los Angeles, Calif.) both finished with a 76 on their card, four over par.
Jake Brennan (Duxbury, Mass.) was the fifth golfer for Roger Williams as he rounded out the day nine over par with an 81.
Roger Williams will look to culminate their season with a Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Championship, when they compete in the conference tournament on Saturday, Apr. 29 and Sunday, Apr. 30 at Raceway Golf Club in Thompson, Conn.
