WARWICK, R.I. – The Roger Williams University men's golf team finished second at the Rhode Island College Spring Invitational on Saturday, closing out the second day of competition shooting a combined 321.
Roger Williams placed four golfers inside the top 10 and all five of their participants inside the top 20.
Ben Brodeur (Whitinsville, Mass.) shot a 75 on day one and shot an 80 on day two of the par 72 course.
Johnny Doherty (Braintree, Mass.) hit a combined 160 after an 83 in round two. Teammate
Cal Tryder (Wakefield, Mass.) shot the same as Doherty in round two, landing both with a 160 for the weekend.
Ben DeFelice (Warwick, R.I.) and
Trevor Hada (Los Angeles, Calif.) both shot a team low 79 for day two to round out scoring.
The Hawks finished with a two-day score of 632, finishing three strokes behind team winner Eastern Connecticut State.
Roger Williams will play at Trinity on Saturday, Apr. 15 and Sunday, Apr. 16 before hosting the RWU Invite on Sunday, Apr. 23 at the Green Valley Country Club.
