ASHAWAY, R.I. – The Roger Williams equestrian team traveled to Hunter Ridge to compete in URI's show on Saturday, placing sixth overall.
Starting off the day for the Hawks was Open rider
Leah Petricca (Pittsfield, Mass.) in both the Open flat and fences classes. Petricca brought in a sixth-place finish for the Hawks in the fences portion of the class, bringing in one point for the team.
Moving on to the intermediate classes,
Alexandra Macdonald (Norwood, Mass.) rode to a sixth-place finish in the fences class, gaining the Hawks one more point. In the intermediate flat class,
Lily Scarth (East Setauket, N.Y.) finished sixth as well, bringing the Hawks' overall score to just three points this far in the day.
In the Limit division, the Hawks sent
Lindsey Savoie (Tolland, Conn.) in both the fences and flat classes, where she placed third in both classes for four points each, boosting the Hawks' overall score by eight points and bringing it to 11 so far for the day.
For the Novice division, the Hawks'
Nina DeGrandi (Berlin, Conn.) found a sixth-place finish bringing the Hawks' total score to 12 points. Finally,
Hannah Labreche (Barrington, R.I.) competed in the Introductory division, unfortunately not placing in the rankings.

The Roger Williams equestrian team has concluded the fall portion of their season and will return to competition on Saturday, February 22nd back at URI to begin their spring season.
