WESTFIELD, Mass. – The Roger Williams University Women's Cross Country team placed seventh overall at the James Earley Invitational on Saturday, finishing with 222 points, 47 points back of sixth place.
The Hawks were led by Grace Baldwin (Braintree, Mass.) who set the pace with a personal-best time of 20:02.1, leading RWU's scoring five for the third consecutive meet. Katie Flaherty (West Hartford, Conn.) followed with a strong 20:41.6, while Gabriella Sitzer (Slingerlands, New York) continued her breakout season, notching another personal record in 20:48.4.
Amanda Walsh (South Windsor, Conn.) and Alyssa LaValley (Epsom, N.H.) rounded out the Hawks' top five, both earning career-best marks with times of 21:34.7 and 22:08.3, respectively. Lindsay Maine (Richmond, R.I.) capped off the lineup, also recording a personal best of 24:40.2.
Roger Williams will look to carry this momentum into their next meet on Nov. 1, the CNE Championship.
