BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Roger Williams University Women's Cross Country team competed Friday at the Paul Short Invitational hosted by Lehigh at the Goodman Campus Cross Country Course.
Grace Baldwin (Braintree, Mass.) led the way for the Hawks, completing the course in 24:14.1, finishing 228th, setting a new career best by over 25 seconds. Olivia O'Neill (Westwood, Mass.) was the second RWU runner to cross the finish line, posting a 25:10.9 time, finishing 304th.
Gabriella Sitzer (Slingerlands, N.Y.) ran the course in 25:17.8, while Katie Flaherty (West Hartford, Conn.) finished in 25:56.5. Sitzer's time was a new personal record in the 6K. Later in the race, Alyssa Lavalley (Epsom, N.H.) and Amanda Walsh (South Windsor, Conn.) finished back-to-back, placing 367 and 368, respectively, while posting times of 26:12.8 and 26:14.2. Both LaValley and Walsh's times were PRs for their careers.
Lindsay Maine (Richmond, R.I.) rounded out the field for the Hawks, finishing in 31:08.9.
Roger Williams will return to action on Saturday, Oct. 11, at the James Earley Invitational hosted by Westfield State, ahead of the Conference of New England (CNE) Championships that take place on Saturday, Nov. 1.
