BEVERLY, Mass. – The Roger Williams University Field Hockey Team saw Chelsea King (Albany, N.Y.) named as the Conference of New England (CNE) Offensive Player of the Year as announced by the league office on Friday afternoon, headlining nine total Hawks who earned All-Conference honors.
King tallied 25 goals and nine assists through 19 contests for 59 total points, resetting her mark from all of last season, ahead of a seven-point performance in the first round of the CNE Tournament. King then tallied 68 shots on goal throughout the regular season with 85 total shots (.800), with three game-winning goals. This is the second time King was named Offensive Player of the Year, after sharing the award in 2023 with Tori Swanson of Endicott.
Joining King on the First Team was Maddy Monahan (Bristol, N.H.), who tallied 22 points off seven goals and eight assists through 19 games in the midfield. Monahan tallied four game-winning goals on the year while putting 52 of 78 shots on target (.722) for the season. McKenzie Foley (Hanover, Mass.) was also named to the All-Conference First Team after the defender played a key role for the Hawks' back line. Foley had an assist on the year with only eight shots, but registered a defensive save for the Hawks, while helping RWU record five shutouts.
On the Second Team, goalkeeper Hannah Brazil (Sandwich, Mass.) earned the honors after playing 931:41 in net, with 21 goals allowed and 68 saves, for a goals against average of 1.35 and a .764 save percentage. Joining Brazil is Hannah Timbrouck (Kingston, N.Y.), who tallied eight goals and four assists on the year for 20 points, with 30 of 38 shots going on frame (.789) and a game-winning goal. Grace Rocheleau (West Hartford, Conn.) also earned Second Team recognition after a season in which she secured seven points with a pair of goals and three assists with 10 of 19 shots landing on net (.526), while also playing a vital role in midfield defense.
The Third Team was anchored by Anna Kruggel (Scituate, Mass.) and Ally Orlofski (Lynnfield, Mass.), who each played a major role in the stability of the Hawks' defense that held opponents to 1.32 goals per game. Kruggel recorded two goals with six assists, playing as a vital role for the RWU penalty corner unit, while Orlofski was the anchor in the middle of the back line for the Hawks, playing primarily at center back. Rounding out the All-Conference honorees was Eva Wood (Sandwich, Mass.) who tallied six goals with three assists for 15 points. Wood also put 17 of her 23 attempts on target (.739).
Lily Tobin (Sandwich, Mass.) also was named to the Community Service Team, representing the Hawks.
Roger Williams (15-5, 6-1 CNE) will travel to face No. 1 Endicott in the CNE Championship match on Saturday, Nov. 8 at 1:00 pm in Beverly, Mass.
