BRISTOL, R.I. – The Roger Williams University Men's Swimming team proved dominant on Saturday at the RWU Invitational at the Aquatics Center. The Hawks finished the meet in first with a score of 627, beating second place Bridgewater State by 450.
The Hawks sent Carter Brown (Lake Ridge, Va.), Cam Hogg (Bridgewater, Mass.), Dylan Gourlay (Mount Kisco, N.Y.) and James Augustin (Massapequa, N.Y.) to compete in the 200-yard Medley Relay. The team finished in first place with an overall time of 1:35.97.
In the 200-yard Freestyle, Gourlay was back in the pool and the top finisher with a time of 1:45.95.
For the 200-yard Individual Medley Luke Austin (Essex Junction, Vt.) finished first with a time of 2:00.10.
The Hawks' James Guilmette (Johnston, R.I.) took the top time in the 50-yard Freestyle, finishing in 21.62.
Gourlay was back in the pool and the top finisher in the 100-yard Butterfly, finishing in 54.46, just ahead of teammate Milo Stefanowicz (Point Pleasant, N.J.).
In the 100-yard Freestyle, Guilmette and Carter Brown took first and second, finishing in 48.67 and 49.23 respectively.
Alex Weisenbacher (Beacon Falls, Conn.) finished first in the 500-yard Freestyle, with a time of 4:53.67.
For the 200-yard Freestyle Relay, the Hawks sent Evan Wysor (North Kingstown, R.I.), Stefanowicz, Augustin, and Guilemette to compete. The team took first place and finished with a time of 1:28.92.
The Hawks took the top spot in the 100-yard Backstroke. Thomas Brown (Katonah, N.Y.) finished first with a time of 54.07.
In the 100-yard Breaststroke, BSU's Yi Hao Ng finished in the top spot, followed closely by Austin who finished second with a time of 59.61.
The Hawks sent Weisenbacher, Wysor, Nolan Bernier (Beacon Falls, Conn.), and Gourlay to compete in the 400-yard Freestyle Relay. The team finished in first with a time of 3:18.97.
Roger Williams with travel to Bridgeport on Saturday, Nov. 8 and compete against University of Bridgeport and University of Saint Joseph (CT).
