BRISTOL, R.I.- The Roger Williams University Men's swimming team conceded to Babson College 177-85 at home on Saturday, October 18.
The Hawks sent Thomas Brown (Katonah, N.Y.), Luke Austin (Essex Junction, Vt.), Drew Herbert (Melrose, Mass.), and James Guilmette (Johnston, R.I.) to compete in the 200-yard Medley Relay. The team finished in second place in this event with an overall time of 1:39.40.
In the 1000-yard Freestyle, Alex Weisenbacher (Beacon Fall, Conn.) was the top finisher for the Hawks, coming in second with a time of 10:35.62.
In the 200-Yard Freestyle, the Hawks' Dylan Gourlay (Mount Kisco, N.Y.) took third place with a time of 1:51.05.
In Backstroke events this meet, Carter Brown (Lake Ridge, Va.) took second in the 100-yard event finishing with a time of 56.38. Carter Brown was back in the pool for the 200-yard and finished third with a time of 2:04.59.
Thomas Brown swam again for the Hawks and placed second in the 200-yard Butterfly, finishing with a time of 2:02.77.
James Augustin (Massapequa, N.Y.) recorded the first-place finish in the 50-yard Freestyle, finishing with a 22.04 time. Augustin was back in the pool for the 100-yard Freestyle and placed second with a time of 49.52.
In Breaststroke events, Austin was the top Hawk finisher in the 100-yard and finished with a time of 1:00.86. Austin was back in the pool for the 200-yard Breaststroke, finishing second with a time of 2:15.53.
In the 500-yard Freestyle, Gourlay swam again for the Hawks and finishing second with a time of 5:02.01.
For the 100-yard Butterfly, Herbert was the top Hawks finisher with a time of 55.09 and coming in third.
In the 200-yard Individual Medley, Austin swam to a third place finish, finishing the event in 2:04.97.
Roger Williams claimed second in the 200-Yard Free Relay. The team of Gourlay, Carter Brown, Guilmette, and Augustin finished with a time of 1:29.36.
Roger Williams will be back in the pool on Saturday, Oct. 25 when they host Bridgewater State, Norwich, Maine Maritime, and Eastern Connecticut State at the RWU Invitational.
