Sailing: Roger Williams Sets Spring Schedule

BRISTOL, R.I. — The Roger Williams University Sailing team has set its spring 2026 schedule, featuring 34 regattas with two home competitions.

The Hawks open their spring season on Saturday, Feb. 28 with four races, including the Liam O'Keefe Trophy Team Race (Brown), the Harvard Women's Team Race, the Thames River Team Race (Connecticut College), and hosting the McMerrick Cup Team Race. The weekend continues with the Liam O'Keefe Trophy, Harvard Women's, and McMerrick Cup also taking place on Sunday, Mar. 1.

Roger hits the road again, competing the following weekend Mar. 7-8 at the John Jackson Team Race (Georgetown), the Bob Bavier Team Race and Phoebe Corckran King Team Race (Charleston), and the St. Mary's Team Race (St. Mary's College of Maryland).

On Mar. 14-15, the Hawks head to Connecticut College for the Women's Southern New England Team Race and the Southern New England Team Race. That same weekend, they will also compete at Navy in the Graham Hall Team Race.

The next weekend on Mar. 21-22, Roger Williams heads to Boston for the Friis Team Race (Harvard) and Duplin Women's Team Race (Tufts). The Hawks will also host the Roger Williams University Team Race that weekend.
Rounding out the month of March on Mar. 28-29, the team will head to the Marchiando Team Race (MIT), the Dellenbaugh Team Race (Brown), the Azalea Bowl Fleet Race (University of North Carolina Wilmington). The Hawks will also compete at the Salve Invite Fleet Race on the Saturday and Sunday.

Heading into April, the Hawks will compete on Apr. 4-5 at the Open New England Team Race Championships (Brown), the Yale Women's Team Race, the Mystic Lake Team Race (Tufts), and the Southern 5 Fleet Race(URI).

On Saturday, Apr. 11, Roger will head back to URI for the Priddy Fleet Race for first years. Starting on Saturday that weekend and ending on Sunday, Apr. 12 is the Women's New England Team Race Championship (Tufts).

The next weekend on Saturday, Apr. 18, the Hawks will head to the Boston Dinghy Cup Fleet Race (MIT), the Open New England Fleet Race Championship (Brown), the Women's New England Fleet Race Championship (Coast Guard). The weekend continues with the Open New England Fleet Race Championship, the Women's New England Fleet Race Championship, and the Morris Fleet Race on Sunday, Apr. 19.

The Hawks will look to qualify for the Open Team Race Nationals on Apr. 23-25 and the Women's Team Race Nationals on Apr. 26-27 which are both hosted by Tulane University.

Roger Williams pending qualification, will compete in May at the University of South Florida on May 15-16 at the Women's Fleet Race Semifinals. The Hawks continue with the Women's Fleet Race Finals on May 17-18 and then the Open Fleet Race Semifinals on May 19-20. They will look to wrap up their season with the Open Fleet Race Finals on May 21-22.
