BEVERLY, Mass. – The Conference of New England has announced its weekly awards for the week ending on Mar. 1, announcing Roger Williams University defender Kyle Zirn (Chester, N.H.) as the league's Defensive Player of the Week for the sport of Men's Lacrosse.
In the Hawks lone game of the week at Emerson on Friday evening, Zirn sparked the defensive effort in an 8-7 loss to the Lions, tallying five caused turnovers and picking up eight ground balls. The Hawks defense also held their opponents to 16-of-26 on clear attempts in the matchup, including five failed clears in the fourth quarter in the comeback effort.
Roger Williams (0-3, 0-0 CNE) will travel to Maine Maritime to face off against the Mariners on Saturday, Mar. 7 at 1:00 pm. The Hawks will then host Kean in their lone game at home during Spring Break on Wednesday, Mar. 11 at 12:00 pm.
