Endicott handles Men's Lacrosse

Box Score

BRISTOL, R.I. – The Roger Williams University Men's Lacrosse team drops their Commonwealth Coast Conference opener to #19 Endicott 13-5. The Gulls held a significant advantage in shots that kept the Hawks on the defensive for most of the game. Endicott improves 5-2 overall and 2-0 in the CCC, while the Hawks drop to 6-2 overall and 0-1 in the CCC.

At 10:39 in the first period, The Hawks opened the scoring when Tim Kelly (Ridgefield, Conn.) fed Jon Nessa (Concord, Mass.) for the finish. Endicott would respond with five unanswered goals in less than four minutes. Colin Bannon (Westport, Conn.) was the first Gull to find his mark at 9:43 and at 9:11 Peter Erickson (Yarmouth, Maine) hit Jeremy Morgan (Lake Panamoka, N.Y.) to give Endicott the lead. Joshua Tordik (Sayville, N.Y.) would take the role of playmaker for the next two Gull scores finding Kyle Weber at 7:18 and Harrison Cotter at 5:59 to increase the score to 4-1. A Bannon assist to Weber stretched the Gulls advantage to 5-1 before Kelly would stop the run with an unassisted goal for the Hawks.

Endicott continued to increase their lead in the second period with Nick Piniciaro (Beverly, Mass.) picking up his first and second goals before the Hawks would answer with Kelly's second on the day, assisted by Will Siefert (Duxbury, Mass.).

The Gulls which took a 7-3 advantage into the half put the game out of reach early in the third period with Cotter tallying his second, third and fourth goal in the first four minutes of the third period.

Luke Aubrey (Norwalk, Conn.) stopped 16 shots in goal for the Hawks in the loss, while Cameron Bell (Falmouth, Maine) saved 10 in the win.

Endicott returns to action Tuesday, March 25, in Providence, Rhode Island to take on Middlebury in a non-conference match up at 5 p.m. The Hawks travel to Wenham, Massachusetts on Wednesday, March 26, to take on Gordon at 7 p.m. for their second CCC game.
