Sailing Takes Third At Hinman Trophy

OYSTER BAY, N.Y. - The Roger Williams Sailing team competed in one event this past weekend, as the Hawks took third place at the 2017 U.S. Team Racing Championship for the George R. Hinman Trophy.
 
The "Hawks Peacocks" boat consisted of five Roger Williams athletes; Conner Harding (Naples, Fla.), Mackenzie Bryan (Christiansted, St. Croix VI), Martim Anderson (Lisbon, Portugal), Michael McBrien (East Patchogue, N.Y.) and Jennifer Agell (Huntington, N.Y.), sailing outside of the RWU team was Marina Cano Sostre (Boston, Mass.).
 
The Hawks Peacocks divided up into three boats sailing as one against another team of three. The team ended the regatta with nine wins on the weekend.
 
The Hawks will head back to the water this weekend, October 28th and compete in the NE Frosh Champs (Medford, Mass.), the 51st Women's Victorian Coffee URN (Cambridge, Mass.), the 76th Erwin Schell Trophy (Cambridge, Mass.) and host the Dave Perry Trophy (Bristol, R.I.).
